An important part of our research activities is related to environmental radioactivity as an investigation of radionuclide behavior in the environment (air, water, soil, food). In addition, Laboratory provides services to investigate the presence of natural radionuclides in certain industrial branches, thermal power plants, fertilizer production, building material production, and many others. Results of the radionuclide activity assessment are further used to investigate correlations, for modelling of various processes and for the estimation of radiation risk associated with the exposure to ionizing radiation. Radiation and environmental protection department provides numerous services in the areas of radionuclide activity testing as gamma spectrometry, gross alpha and gross beta activity, assessment of 90Sr content, assessment of radon concentration and assessment of tritium concentration.
